Membership in Program Faculty
Criteria for Membership

Be full or associate members of the Graduate Faculty and hold full-time tenure-track positions at NC State University.

Be willing to play an active role in the Program by, for example, chairing dissertation committees (only Program Core Faculty), serving on administrative committees (only Program Core Faculty), being a member of an examination or dissertation committee, and participating in the academic and social life of the Program.

Have a strong record of teaching and advising and be able to teach doctoral-level courses suitable to the Program.

Have an active program of research or scholarship that contributes to the focus, scope, and goals of the CRDM curriculum, as indicated by scholarly specialization, publications, grants, etc.
Nomination and Selection Process

Faculty may be nominated by members of the Program Committee or other faculty and administrators, or they may nominate themselves.
In order to be considered by the CRDM committee, the following materials should be sent to the DGP:
- An online application form that outlines the nominee’s credentials and interests, calling attention to relevant information in the supporting documents, particularly as they address the criteria listed above.

- Confirmation of Graduate Faculty status from the nominee’s department head or the director of graduate studies in the nominee’s department.
- A CV or URL to an electronic CV (this should include information about teaching, such as courses taught, innovations, etc.).

The Program Committee will review nominations based on the criteria and decide on the suitability of the candidate’s membership in the Program Faculty. The DGP will inform the candidate of the Committee’s decision with a copy to the candidate’s department head.
