Key tasks and information prior to starting the program in the Fall.

Now that you’ve been accepted into the CRDM program, there are a few important things you need to do prior to the start of the semester. There are also a few resources that may be helpful as you prepare for your time at NC State. If you still have questions, you can contact Laura Kelly, the CRDM Program Associate.

Important Tasks

  • Send official transcripts. Make sure your official transcripts have been emailed to graduate_admissions@ncsu.edu.
  • Check your NC State email regularly. Much of the important university and program information will be communicated to you via email.
  • Pay university fees. Student fees are due prior to the start of every semester, whether or not you’re on GSSP. You can pay fees online through MyPack Portal. If you are on GSSP, you have the option to set up a payroll deduction plan for these fees.
  • Access MyPack Portal. This site contains important information like billing statements, course enrollment, and more. You can learn more about how to use MyPack Portal in the User Guide.
  • Obtain your Wolfpack One Card. This ID card will allow you access to certain buildings on campus, including the gym and Rick’s Annex (where CRDM student cubicles are), and check out books in the library. While you can upload a photo online for your WolfPack One Card, you will need to pick up the physical card once you are on-campus.
  • Complete any required training. University employees are required to complete training surrounding topics like confidentiality and data security.
  • Complete onboarding paperwork. If you are to be an employee of the university, you will need to complete paperwork with HR, specifically an I-9 form. Depending on your position, you may need to access additional student employee information.
  • Check your email for teaching information. If you are teaching your first semester, you will be contacted directly by a supervisor in the department you’ll be teaching. NC State also provides teaching resources.
