Assistant Professor of Media Studies at Northeastern Illinois University
I teach courses in film and television studies, new media technologies, gender and sexuality, and critical/cultural theory in the Department of Communication, Media, and Theatre at Northeastern Illinois University. My research agenda is at the intersection of popular media, political activism, and public service. In particular, I study the history of HBO’s engagement with the AIDS epidemic. My work has appeared in "Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies," "Nebula", and "FlowTV." I have also contributed book chapters to several edited collections, and I am currently working on a book project focused on HBO’s HIV/AIDS programming.
